Nevada Labor Commissioner Issues New Regulations

Volume 3, Issue 12
August 10, 2004

With only thirty (30) days before the new federal wage and hour regulations are to go into effect, the Nevada Labor Commissioner adopted new state wage and hour regulations on July 23, 2004. The new state wage and hour regulations cover a host of issues that are separate and distinct from the issues addressed in the new federal regulations, including the use of electronic pay systems, paid breaks, standards used to resolve commission disputes, and certain presumptions that will be used by the Commission when evaluating claims for wages. As such, employers are strongly advised to review the new state regulations, which are available on the Labor Commissioner's website: www.laborcommissioner.com.
