New I-9 Form Must Be Used By September 18, 2017

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently released a new revision to its Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification. The new form bears the revision date of 7/17/17 and can be downloaded here. Employers must begin using the new form by no later than September 18, 2017. Storage and retention rules have not changed. The USCIS has also published a revised Handbook for Employers: Guidance for Completing Form I-9, which can be obtained here.

If it seems like you just replaced your I-9 Forms, you are correct. The I-9 Form dated 11/14/16 that you have been using was put into effect in January 2017.
